3 Tattershall Drive

One of a pair of three storey houses (with 5 Tattershall Drive), built c1873 by William Ward and very similar to 1Tattershall Drive and 2 Park Drive. Also similar in styling and details with 4 and 6 Park Drive. In single household use. Flat roofed garage building added facing Holles Crescent c1980 adjacent to boundary with 6 Park Drive. Conservatory added c1988. Red brick facades with stone door and window surrounds. Two storey canted window bay on front facing facade and two storey canted window bay on projecting side wing, with flat lead roofs and low parapets. Various brickwork features including dentilation at gable verges and eaves plus blue brick string courses with nailhead mouldings adding decorative detail to the bay parapets. Segmental and semicircular stone and brick arched heads to some window openings with alternating buff and blue brick voussoirs. Stone surrounds to main openings, mostly rectangular with segmental and semicircular arched heads to smaller openings. Stonework relatively plain with splay reveals plus mouldings to cornice heads on bays, hoodmoulds and door architraves. Stone shaft pilasters flanking main entrance door. Double pitched roof with gables and hips. Original slate roof replaced with tiles c1980. Red brick chimney stack with red and blue brick string courses and mouldings at base of cap. Mainly buff coloured ‘crown’ chimney pots. Alterations to second stack and pots removed. Original c.i. rainwater fittings have been replaced. Sash windows generally. Original red brick boundary walls and gate piers to Tattershall Drive and Holles Crescent with Bulwell stone plinth, blue brick string courses and details plus half round brick copings. Remains of original outbuildings adjacent to Holles Crescent boundary wall. Large stepped garden area.
