Detached house c1878-80 by architect T.C.Hine. Previously converted into flats c1952 but now back in single household use. Red brick with stone dressings and hipped slate roof. Two storeys with attic and basement plus original single storey, hipped roof side wing. Coach house and stable buildings at bottom of garden adjacent to Clumber Road East demolished c1970 and replaced with terrace of 4no. ‘townhouses’. Pointed brick arch to main entrance doorway on road front with stonework features including hoodmould, keystone and side shafts with floriated capitals. Panelled door with overlight. To left, pair of windows with pointed arch stone heads and stone mullion shaft. Moulded stone plinth to brick and stone canted oriel bay at first floor level directly above. Part moulded stone, part moulded brick surrounds to plain sash windows of oriel bay with moulded brick panels to parapet above. Moulded brick band at first floor storey level across road front, oriel bay and encircling other facades. Above oriel bay at roof level, elaborately shaped brick gabled dormer with stone dressings including copings, kneelers, finial and pinnacles on brick pedestals. Pointed arch stone head and sill to dormer window with moulded brick reveals and altered window. Square headed stone lintels and sills to other window openings on road front with plain and glazing bar sashes. Coved eaves with moulded brick band course. Pair of two storey canted door and window bays on garden front with stone head and sill bands and moulded brick shafts to reveals. Plain glazing bar sashes to canted bays with altered doors. A number of alterations and additions to openings including flat roofed dormer windows added to altered roofs of canted bays. Large stone framed window with panel tracery and leaded glazing on north facing facade flanked by large panelled brick chimney breasts and stacks, pierced at roof level with dormer window. Elsewhere, plain sash windows generally with flat or pointed arch stone heads and surrounds. Slate hipped roof with original and later dormer windows. Red brick chimney stacks with blue brick band courses, corbelled heads and ‘crown’ pots. Originally, large glasshouse abutted south facing side facade. Brick boundary wall to Duke William Mount and part of Lincoln Circus, now rendered.
