Detached house c1890.Now converted into flats with later new build dwelling added on either side.Red brick with ashlar dressings and slate, gabled roof. Two storeys plus basement and attics. Building used for many years, (from c1940) as Boadgate Private School. Various small scale external alterations and extensions.Projecting gabled wing on road front plus glazed passageway from brick and stone entrance doorway on Western Terrace boundary. Later garage building added in forecourt area replacing original outbuildings. Two storey canted window bay to right side of main front overlooking garden with gable over and two storey flat roof rectangular window bay to the left. Railings added to roof of rectangular bay. Red brick details include corbelled gable verges and eaves, with added terracotta ornamental motifs and string courses. Also voussoirs and hoodmoulds to semicircular arched window heads on gables plus splayed brick reveals to window openings and inset panels on bays. Stone sill and moulded head bands to window bays, sills and moulded lintels to individual window openings plus decorative copings, finial and door surround to main entrance on boundary. Stonework remains unpainted. Gabled roof with slates and ornamental clay ridge tiles and finials. Prominent dormer window. Red brick chimney stacks with string courses and corbelled caps. A number of original buff ‘Crown’ chimney pots have been replaced. Original rainwater fittings replaced. Mainly plain or glazing bar sash windows. Some alterations. Six panelled door to glazed entrance passage way. Brick boundary wall to Western Terrace with saddleback copings. Gated opening with brick piers and stone pyramidal caps. Coursed rubble stone retaining wall encloses garden at boundary with Newcastle Drive, (formerly known as Pelham Terrace).
