Detached house c1890-95, possibly by architects Hine & Son. Now split into two households, one of which is named Cavendish Court with access via original entrance on Tunnel Road. Original house formerly known as ‘Allandale’. Plan by Perkin and Newbold for garage c1910-20. Existing garage may be alteration or subsequent addition. Plan by Warmington & Co. for alterations c1958. (Possibly to convert the original house into two dwellings) Almost all of original garden area lost to residential development c1980 including six seperate dwellings. Two storeys and basement with original single storey extension adjacent to Cavendish Road East. Projecting gable wing at rear with single storey rectangular window bay. Adjacent two storey canted window bay with hipped plain tile roof. Red brick facades with ashlar dressings. Brick details include decorative band of projecting stretchers and headers at storey height level plus string courses and moulded brick surrounds to window openings. Diaper patterns on facade. Circular ornamental terracotta air vent on gable with eight pointed star motif. Unpainted moulded stone lintels and sills to main window openings. Double pitched, plain tile roof with gables plus hipped roof to canted bay. Hipped plain tile roof to single storey front extension. Clay ridge tiles with broken or missing terracotta finials. Bargeboards to gables. Alterations to existing chimney stack and pots removed. Other stacks have been taken down. Original rainwater fittings replaced. Casement windows generally. some with leaded lights plus a number of alterations. Origianl terraced garden now seperately developed, distorting setting of original house plus consequent loss of original brick and stone boundary wall enclosures to Tunnel Road and Tattershall Drive. Parts of original boundary walls and gate piers adjacent to house remain but altered.
